Leonard's Bakery[edit]

The remains of a Leonard's malasada with filling

Improved to Good Article status by Czar (talk). Self-nominated at 14:17, 13 May 2015 (UTC).

  • Comment: Anthropologist Carolyn Fluehr-Lobban notes that "the term 'Hawaiian' is used for anyone with original (i.e., indigenous) blood, consisting of one ancestor, and this must be officially documented".[1] In this context, "Hawaiian cuisine" is ambiguous and could possibly refer to three different food traditions. In the correct context, the sources describe the malasada as an ethnic cuisine of Hawaii, so the piping should be removed to prevent the confusion. Viriditas (talk) 05:36, 14 May 2015 (UTC)
Oy. The point of the piping was to clarify any ambiguity with the phrase "Hawaiian cuisine". I restored "cuisine of Hawaii" even though I think it's clunkier. – czar 12:03, 14 May 2015 (UTC)
