List of athletes who competed in both the Summer and Winter Olympic games[edit]

  • Reviewed: Appleton's Pulpit
  • Comment: I'm going to expand this later tonight, but I wanted to get it in now while I can. Done.

  • This is a mobile review, so I apologise in advance for typos and the length not being as long as my normal reviews. Article was 5* expanded, ending early this morning (also created 5 days ago). Article is neutral, and every paragraph is sourced either directly or in the list. No copyvios in the spotchecks, though ref 2 gets me a 404, but I will AGF that it works, I can see it in a google. Please source the statement about figure skating in para 1. QPQ done.
  • Please source the statement, then I will AGF that the 404 is because of mobile editing, and tick this. Thanks, Matty.007 08:50, 23 February 2014 (UTC)
  • The page has an incomplete tag. Yoninah (talk) 11:13, 23 February 2014 (UTC)
  • I am now using a computer, no 404 now, after a bit of digging, I found the source for the first paragraph, so this is now near good to go. However, I am not sure if it has to be complete, but it isn't that nearly there, only 26 of 128 seems to need a bit more work. I'm not 100% sure if that means it is eligible or not. Thanks, Matty.007 11:19, 23 February 2014 (UTC)
  • 26 out of 128 is using those whom we know of. Most likely, the page will not be complete for years, but drawing attention to it will help expand it some more. Unfortunately, unless there is an online list of every person in this category, it is going to be very hard to figure all of this out. Kevin Rutherford (talk) 16:44, 23 February 2014 (UTC)
  • I am inclined to approve this nomination. Every single athlete on the list is sourced, and the first two paragraphs of the lead are sourced. The third paragraph is more of a recap of what's to come; it would be nice to have some kind of citation there for DYK purposes. I just have 2 questions. Why is it called "List of people who have competed..."? Why aren't you calling them "athletes"? And since the 2014 Winter Olympics have passed, how about trimming the hook:
  • ALT1: ... that at least 128 athletes have participated in both the Summer and Winter Olympic games? Yoninah (talk) 23:02, 5 March 2014 (UTC)
  • I guess it wasn't really thought about at the time, but feel free to move it if you want. Also, the hook looks good. Kevin Rutherford (talk) 00:17, 6 March 2014 (UTC)
  • OK, I moved it and cleaned up the linked pages. What do you want to do about citing something in the third paragraph in the lead? Yoninah (talk) 01:01, 6 March 2014 (UTC)
  • Oddly enough, I think one of the first few references state this, since someone put that on there before I touched the intro. It is citeable though, even if it does sound like original research. Kevin Rutherford (talk) 04:20, 6 March 2014 (UTC)
  • So could you add a cite, please? I'm not able to find the cite in the first few references. Thanks, Yoninah (talk) 11:26, 6 March 2014 (UTC)
  • Thank you. I found another source and did a little editing on the lead. All paragraphs are cited and hook ref is verified and cited inline. New enough, long enough, no close paraphrasing seen. QPQ done. ALT1 good to go. Yoninah (talk) 20:50, 6 March 2014 (UTC)
  • Fixed; non-admin is all that's needed at this stage. BlueMoonset (talk) 00:49, 9 March 2014 (UTC)
