List of songs recorded by Whitney Houston[edit]

Whitney Houston performing in 2009 on Good Morning America.

Created by Calvin999 (talk). Self nominated at 10:24, 14 August 2013 (UTC).

  • New and long enough, a very interesting subject. Good to go. Javier Espinoza (talk) 20:22, 14 August 2013 (UTC)
  • Pulled out of the queue because the bolded words "by a female artist" were too unrelated to the article scope. Can this hook be reworded so the link to the article is not misleading? --Orlady (talk) 02:31, 18 August 2013 (UTC)
  • Two possibilities. A minor copyedit:
It might be pique more interest with the number ones mentioned first:
  • Those are good suggestions, but we don't need to be quite so rigid about including the article title. Here are some variant wordings:
  • But none of those work. The whole point of the hook is that the album was the first debut, and the first female debut, album to generate three number one singles, not simply that it generated three number one singles. Lot's of albums have accomplished this since, but the whole point of this one is that it was the first ever debut album, and first ever debut by a female, to accomplish this. And none of those 5 alternative hooks state this. I've got another DYK here atm, and my hooks for it are apparently not interesting enough. I thought I'd come up with a really interesting hook for this one, and yet it's being proposed that its changed, which does not include the interesting part! I'm quite adamant that her album being the first debut, or the first female debut, to generate 3 number-one hits is included, so how about:
  • The challenge here is that the article is about her song list, but Calvin999's proposed hook is about her first album. Here's another idea for wording the hook (including a more impressive fact that I found in the article and that is supported the cited source):
    • ALT4: ... that when three of Whitney Houston's recorded songs on her first album became number-one singles, it was the first time three songs from a debut album reached the top of the Billboard Hot 100? --Orlady (talk) 14:39, 18 August 2013 (UTC)
      • Yes I think that works really well. The fact that it was the first ever debut to generate 3 number-ones is what makes this interesting. Without it, it's quite generic.  — aron 16:34, 18 August 2013 (UTC)
  • Let's have a fresh review. --Orlady (talk) 17:53, 19 August 2013 (UTC)
New enough (5x) and prose is of sufficient length. Hook is cited and references look good. Article is neutral and no plagiarism was detected. Good to go. Gobōnobō + c 17:15, 1 September 2013 (UTC)
