Look Here (horse)[edit]

  • ... that the filly Look Here won the 2008 Epsom Oaks as a 33/1 long shot, and failed to win another race before she retired?
  • Comment: Not a self-nom. --PFHLai (talk) 15:10, 19 August 2012 (UTC)

Created/expanded by Tigerboy1966 (talk). Nominated by PFHLai (talk) at 15:10, 19 August 2012 (UTC)

Perhaps I have to break this up into 7 hooks. Maybe easier to attract reviewers? --PFHLai (talk) 00:27, 21 September 2012 (UTC)
Given the recent flood of racehorse hooks, I think doing so would be most unfortunate, as it would add another six all at once. With luck, someone will come. Perhaps you could try to recruit one of the people who have reviewed other recent ones? BlueMoonset (talk) 20:11, 22 September 2012 (UTC)
Flood? Compared to hooks about athletes, pop songs and TV shows, this is just a small puddle. --PFHLai (talk) 02:44, 23 September 2012 (UTC)
I'll take the bullet on this one :)  In progress Yazan (talk) 10:20, 26 September 2012 (UTC)
  • Moonshell (horse): Article verified for length, date and sources. Hook is verified, but needs an inline citation after the sentence that says she won the Oaks, "... to win by one and a quarter lengths from Dance A Dream."
  • Shahtoush: Article verified for length, date and sources. The first fact of the hook is verified, but the second fact (never one another title) needs a reference. Preferably after the sentence that starts "On her final appearance..."
  • Love Divine: Article verified for length, date and sources. Hook is also verified and has an inline citation. This one is good to go.
  • Imagine (horse): Article verified for length, date and sources. Hook is also verified and has an inline citation. This one is good to go as well.
  • Eswarah: Article verified for length, date and sources. Hook is also verified, but both facts of the hook need an inline citation after the respective sentences (where it says she won the oaks) and (where it says she was retired).
  • Light Shift: Article verified for length, date and sources. Hook is also verified and has an inline citation. This one is good to go as well.
  • Look Here (horse): Article verified for length, date and sources. Hook is also verified and has an inline citation. This one is good to go as well.
  • Review finished.
  • Overall: only minor issues with placing the inline citation after the hook facts in some articles. Once that is dealt with, this should be good to go.
  • However, on a separate note: I do think that Tigerboy1966 (and to a lesser degree, perhaps, PFHLai) should be reviewing more hooks for DYK. While, technically, they are not bound by the QPQ requirement (because the articles are not nominated by their creator (Tigerboy1966) but rather by PFHLai) there is obviously some sort of a longterm cooperation between the two editors (that could be verified by a cursory look at all Tigerboy1966's articles in DYK). Granted, that cooperation could've developed right here in DYK, but it still gives the impression that it's somehow skirting a DYK regulation that was enacted in good faith to help the project cope with the backlog. A few courtesy reviews to help out the rest of the editors here (especially at a time like this when the backlog is really huge) would be looked at very kindly, I think. Just a thought. Cheers! • Fixed. I do appreciate the point. As I've said before, I just write articles and have no control or any real interest in whether or not they get nominated for DYK. The first thing I usually know about it is when they appear on the main page. On this occasion, however, I do admit to some co-operation. I had created a number of similar articles and when I noticed that PFHLai had nominated one of them I suggested that a group nomination might be viable. I'm quite happy to review some nominations as a good will gesture, in fact I did a couple at the weekend, and will do a couple more before getting back to creating content. Anyone know if they have horse racing on Gibraltar? Tigerboy1966  18:18, 26 September 2012 (UTC)
  • On a separate note, I think that it might be better to state that none of the fillies ever won another race. Tigerboy1966  18:21, 26 September 2012 (UTC)
  • Hook tweaked as suggested. Thanks. --PFHLai (talk) 22:53, 26 September 2012 (UTC)
  • Checked. All articles are good to go for the modified hook. And thanks for both the excellent articles and the reviews! Yazan (talk) 03:07, 27 September 2012 (UTC)
