Lubna Tahtamouni

[edit]
  • ... that many of cancer biologist Lubna Tahtamouni's students are women from underprivileged regions of Jordan, some of whom have gone on to PhD programs in Europe and North America?
Source: "Upon earning her PhD, Tahtamouni returned as an associate professor to Hashemite, where the majority of female students are from underprivileged regions of Jordan.... Two of her former master's students are doing their PhD work abroad, one in Italy and the other in Canada." [1]

Interesting life, supported by sources, thank you! I am not happy with the hook, sorry. Can you mention her first, and what she does? Do we really have to mention the exception, comparing to this 2011 figure: "Of the 80 students in my undergraduate class, 71 were women," Tahtamouni said. "But only three of those 71 went on to do a master’s and only one went on to do a PhD." - I'd be happier with mentioning that she made her Ph:D. in the US but returned to make an impact in her home country, and/orsaying that she is head of a department at the University. - Please no link to a common country such as Jordan. In the article: a category doesn't exist, please create it or drop it. How do you feel about an infobox? --Gerda Arendt (talk) 10:12, 15 December 2016 (UTC)
@Gerda Arendt: I feel that the fact that she did her Ph.D. in the US and returned afterwards is kind of boring by itself, since lots of people do that. Maybe something like the following is slightly better, though I'm open to more suggestions. Feel free to add an infobox. Antony–22 (talkcontribs) 05:19, 16 December 2016 (UTC)
  • ALT1: ... that cancer biologist Lubna Tahtamouni used her experience studying abroad to enable her students, many of whom are from underprivileged regions of Jordan, to do the same?
  • Can you say sooner where she is (town or country), to make some sense of abroad? I am no friend of "many of whom" but have no solution. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 06:46, 16 December 2016 (UTC)
  • ALT2 ... that Jordanian cancer biologist Lubna Tahtamouni used her experience earning a degree abroad to encourage students from underprivileged regions of Jordan to do the same? Antony–22 (talkcontribs) 23:49, 19 December 2016 (UTC)
thank you - not sure we need Jordan twice but better than unclear ;) --Gerda Arendt (talk) 08:45, 20 December 2016 (UTC)
