Luna 2

  • ... that Luna 2, on its way to becoming the first human-made object to make contact with the Moon, also made the first direct measurement of solar wind flux from outside Earth's magnetosphere?
    • ALT1:... that the Soviet probe Luna 2, the first human-made object to make contact with the Moon, began a trend of crash landing missions that continued even after soft landings were mastered?

Improved to Good Article status by Coffeeandcrumbs (talk) and Kees08 (talk). Nominated by Coffeeandcrumbs (talk) at 21:05, 11 July 2019 (UTC).

  • GA icon received same day as nomination. New enough, long enough, neutrally written, well referenced, no close paraphrasing seen. The first hook is a little technical and wordy for casual readers, but ALT1 is very interesting. ALT1 hook refs verified and cited inline. Images in article are all freely licensed. QPQ done. ALT1 good to go. Yoninah (talk) 01:24, 14 July 2019 (UTC)
