  • Created by Mk170101 (talk). Self-nominated at 14:10, 29 April 2020 (UTC).
  • No hook is provided. Forgotten? CeeGee 16:50, 8 May 2020 (UTC)
@CeeGee: I think the intended hook was "is most well known for being a source of Little Red Riding Hood, Sleeping Beauty, and Snow White" but they put it inside the source part for some reason. I'll leave them a talk page message to see if they can return to the nomination and address the hook issues. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 10:01, 9 May 2020 (UTC)
  • OK. I am waiting. CeeGee 18:29, 9 May 2020 (UTC)
  • Hook was finally provided thanks to Cowlibob. Article is new, long enough and neutral. It is partly cited inline. The paragraphs #2 and #3 in the section "Life" are missing citation at thier end. I am not sure whether the "†"-sign for "died" in the first paragraph of the section "Life" is MOS compatible. No check for text similarity can be done by "Earwig's Copyvio Detector" since all online sources are in foreign language. I AGF.The hook is well-formatted and interesting. Its length is within limit. Its fact is cited inline. No QPQ was done. It seems that the nominator has less than five DYK-noms. I will approve after the a.m. issues are addressed. CeeGee 18:25, 10 May 2020 (UTC)
@CeeGee and Cowlibob: The nominator hasn't edited since the 5th, or days before the original review. If any issues are going to be addressed, it may have to be done without the nominator's input if they do not return soon. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 12:54, 18 May 2020 (UTC)

Narutolovehinata5, this article is written in such poor English, and has plenty of other problems (in the citations, for instance): there is no way it should go on the front page in this condition. I'm surprised the reviewer didn't comment on this, or attempted to correct at least the obvious mistakes that I just tackled. Drmies (talk) 13:00, 18 May 2020 (UTC)

@CeeGee: Would you be fine if this article is taken to WP:GOCE? As the nominator is relatively new to Wikipedia and has no prior nominations, I think some leeway could be given in the time we can give to this. However, if the nominator doesn't return in a reasonable timeframe and the issues remain unaddressed, this may need to be failed. As the subject is German, perhaps Gerda Arendt might be able t help explain the use of "†" in the article? Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 13:08, 18 May 2020 (UTC)
The symbol is short for day (or year) of death. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 13:10, 18 May 2020 (UTC)
Deep sigh. I did some basic formatting. The highlight of the (machine?) translation was Schultheiß = school hotspot. (It's close to my so far favourite, teenager=tea rodent.) (Is she even notable?) Anyway, I couldn't leave the article in that state ;) Jmar67, could you perhaps polish a bit more? - The fairy tales in the hook need links. She and Grimms would have used German titles, though. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 13:36, 18 May 2020 (UTC)
  • I see that some hands are trying to help out. I normally do not interfere in copyediting, I leave it to English-speaking Wikipedians. Now, I am waiting for the final stage to complete the review. CeeGee 16:45, 18 May 2020 (UTC)
  • Gerda Arendt, I am not quite sure what to do. The "Wo Marie als Kind lebte" obviously verifies only one tiny little part, but I can't stick it in the right place (at Haus Lossow) since I don't know which of the two sources verifies what comes before--if only the German article had had proper footnotes. The biography isn't accessible via Google; I'm about to look at the other book that was cited. There is some information in various German editions of the Grimm tales, but only snippets, and we have two unverified paragraphs. Drmies (talk) 00:35, 21 May 2020 (UTC)
  • I like the topic, but am simply to busy (an open FAC restructured, with a new source found but not in place yet, + a feast day) to even look today. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 06:07, 21 May 2020 (UTC)
  • @Gerda Arendt: Is it okay with you if you adopt this nomination? The original nominator has not been very active and never responded to the concerns raised here. Considering the age of the nomination, it may have to be closed if no one else takes over or the nominator doesn't become more active. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 13:20, 9 June 2020 (UTC)
That's fine, I have no time this week. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 13:37, 9 June 2020 (UTC)
Looking again, I have more urgent things to do, sorry. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 05:06, 15 June 2020 (UTC)
  • As the nominator hasn't edited in weeks and never responded to DYK concerns, the nomination may be marked for closure if no one adopts this within a reasonable timeframe. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 15:57, 16 June 2020 (UTC)
  • Is there something I can do? CeeGee 05:10, 17 June 2020 (UTC)
The article issues appear to be on the nominator's end not the reviewer's. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 07:17, 17 June 2020 (UTC)
@CeeGee: Specifically, it appears that the article may need some copyediting. While you'd be free to do it yourself, the review many need to be completed by another editor if such edits become substantial. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 01:26, 23 June 2020 (UTC)
  • Copyedit completed. A new reviewer is needed. CeeGee 15:26, 23 June 2020 (UTC)
  • New enough, long enough, QPQ not needed. Passes earwig. --evrik (talk) 03:22, 26 June 2020 (UTC)
  • @Evrik: Hi, I came by to promote this, but the article mentions the first two stories and then says and possibly Snow White. Would adding "possibly" kill the hook? Yoninah (talk) 21:49, 30 June 2020 (UTC)
  • @Yoninah: Adding possibly is okay with me. I just added an ALt1. --evrik (talk) 20:52, 1 July 2020 (UTC)
  • ALT1 is okay, I guess. There isn't another famous title to add to the hook, so let's go with that. Restoring your tick. Yoninah (talk) 21:03, 1 July 2020 (UTC)
