Midnight Rider (film)[edit]

  • ... that a female second camera assistant Sarah Elizabeth Jones killed on the first day of shooting of Midnight Rider, and a campaign has been launched to honor Sarah Jones during Oscars' In Memoriam Tribute?

Created/expanded by Captain Assassin! (talk). Self nominated at 11:30, 26 February 2014 (UTC).

  • (alt2) ... that Sarah Jones, who was killed on the first day shooting of Midnight Rider, was honored in the Oscars' "In Memoriam"?
Suggest Alt1 as just as hooky and leaves the reader to find out more Victuallers (talk) 17:17, 26 February 2014 (UTC)
She was added to the Oscars In Memoriam 1, and now Society of Operating Cameramen are going to honor her 2. --Captain Assassin! «TCG» 02:46, 5 March 2014 (UTC)
Please update the article to reflect that the petition was submitted and she was honored. Right now, the artiucle is out of date. --ThaddeusB (talk) 06:41, 9 March 2014 (UTC)
@ThaddeusB: Article's updated. She was honored at Oscars and then at two more events.--Captain Assassin! «TCG» 19:36, 9 March 2014 (UTC)
  • (edit conflict) A new hook is needed: the original hook was over the DYK length limit, and ALT1 is now as out of date as the article, since the Oscars have been broadcast. BlueMoonset (talk) 19:41, 9 March 2014 (UTC)
  • Hook issued addressed, full review needed. --ThaddeusB (talk) 22:00, 9 March 2014 (UTC)
  • Captain Assassin!, I'm not planning to do the full review that's needed for the nomination, since the article itself has never been reviewed. Let's let the red arrow do its work to attract a reviewer, as ThaddeusB called for:
  • Full review needed of article and ALT2 hook. BlueMoonset (talk) 06:52, 11 March 2014 (UTC)
  • By my reckoning it now passes all the criteria for DYK. If I'm allowed to approve this after my significant edits, I would give it a green tick. All the sources check out and there are no copyright issues, unlike the Sarah Jones (filmmaker) article. Unhappy with the version I found, I gave it a thorough cleanup and copyedit. I removed the "casting" section, which brought nothing encyclopaedic to the article except a splattering of dates of various announcements. I also removed a considerable amount of overlinking and unnecessary dates, and other material I wouldn't expect to find in an encyclopaedia article. As it stood, the emphasis of article seemed to be on the death of Jones, with much too much eulogising and off-topic material, although I expect it will balance out as the article will expand as the film gains release. Jones is a case of WP:BLP1E. She was not[1][2] "honored in 'In Memoriam' at the Oscars". I have put her article up for deletion. By the same token, I propose
  • (alt3) ... that the crew member who was killed on the set of Midnight Rider received acknowledgement at the Oscars' ceremony? -- Ohc ¡digame! 03:50, 19 March 2014 (UTC)

also check the new ALT hook. I have struck ALT2 because Ohconfucius says it is not supported. If it is considered important to use Sarah's name in the ultimate hook, it could not be linked unless her article survives AfD. BlueMoonset (talk) 01:09, 20 March 2014 (UTC)

Ref 15 needs to be property formatted. The AFD apparently resulted in the Jones article redirecting to Midnight Rider. However, Ohconfucius has eliminated her name altogether. How about this:
  • (alt3a) ... that crew member Sarah Elizabeth Jones, who was killed on the set of Midnight Rider, received acknowledgement at the Oscars' ceremony?
— Maile (talk) 16:51, 31 March 2014 (UTC)
Done Ref# 15 is good now.
alt3a will work, need a reviewer. --Captain Assassin! «TCG» 17:19, 31 March 2014 (UTC)
New review - article was new enough, correct person credited, long enough, enough references and hook alt3a is short enough, it seems to be true if the Oscars are the same as the Academy awards as the article says Academy awards and the proposed hook says Oscars. The hook is confirmed in the citation. Good to go. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 11:33, 19 April 2014 (UTC)
