Miniso
[edit]- ... that Chinese variety store Miniso was co-founded by a Japanese designer and a Chinese entrepreneur? Source: "In response to the negative feedback, Mr Miyake Jyunya, 42, co-founder and chief designer, tells The Straits Times:" and "The company was founded ... by Mr Jyunya and his Chinese partner and president of the company, Mr Ye Guo Fu" (Miniso is Japanese, say founders, The Strait Times)
ALT1:... that Chinese variety store Miniso was noted for its similarity to Japanese variety stores Muji, Uniqlo, and Daiso?Source: "Critics have drawn comparisons with other Japanese high-end dollar stores, Muji and Uniqlo, both of which share similarities in design with Miniso." (Is Miniso a Japan-based Chain Store?, Macau Daily Times)
"One could be forgiven for believing they were genuine outlets of the popular Japanese clothing store Uniqlo. Inside, however, they resemble more of a cross between lifestyle retailer Muji and a dollar store." (A Japanese disguise helps sell 'Made in China' in Vietnam, Nikkei Asian Review
"The brand also attracted flak because its name sounds like the popular $2 chain Daiso and its logo resembles that of Uniqlo." Miniso is Japanese, say founders, The Strait Times)

- This article is new enough and long enough. Going for the original hook as being more interesting. The hook facts are sourced inline and the article is neutral. Some of the sources are not in English and with regard to the others, neither Earwig nor I could detect any copyright concerns. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 12:25, 27 January 2017 (UTC)
