Noramfaizul Mohd Nor[edit]

  • ... that .... Noramfaizul Mohd Nor, who was the first Malaysian journalist to die while on assignment abroad, had previously escaped death in the 1990s by avoiding an aerial photography assignment, which happened to kill several colleagues. Noramfaizul was killed while on assignment September 2, 2011, while reporting on a humanitarian mission in Mogadishu, Somalia. He was given a hero's burial in Malaysia.
