  • Superb work. Sounds very interesting. It is (also?) a Hindu/Indian concept to treat God as lover. There is example of Krishna, Meera. Swami Vivekananda also had similar suggestion. I definitely want to read the original work. Is there any free digital copy (in English)?
    Few issues/comments—
a) I am facing difficulties to find the online source which supports "God as lover" b) Article title is "Nyanyi Sunyi", article starts with Njanji Soenji (Republican Spelling: Njanji Sunji; Perfected Spelling..... c) ALT1 looks excellent, about the main hook, when quotes are used, it immediately comes in mind who said it?   • Indonesian culture has much influence from Hinduism, as I believe we've discussed before. Hamzah, though a Muslim, was familiar with Hinduism (he made a translation of the Bhagavad Gita, even). I don't know of any official English translations of Hamzah's work, although "Padamu Jua" is likely included in English in Teeuw's Modern Indonesian Literature (I've been using the Indonesian version, which does have it).
About your questions: 1) When I get home I'll give you a quotation (Umar Junus is of the same opinion, however, see this) 2) Indonesian has gone through several spelling reforms. This collection was first published when the Van Ophuijsen Spelling System was in use, then came the Republican Spelling System (my copy uses this system); newer versions are printed in the Perfected Spelling System. We are generally supposed to provide other common names or spellings for article subjects in the lede, and all of my articles on literature have used the perfected spelling (an approach common in the sources). 3) Echols doesn't have an article yet (although I don't doubt he is worth one, he seems to have been a tenured professor) so I'm averse to including his name, although I can add it if necessary. — Crisco 1492 (talk) 02:44, 1 July 2013 (UTC)
