Orgelbau Mebold[edit]

Mebold Organ in Idstein
Mebold Organ in Idstein

Created by Gerda Arendt (talk). Self-nominated at 20:08, 25 April 2018 (UTC).

  • The article is new enough, was nominated seven days after creation (so meets the date requirement), and is stable. German sources accepted AGF. Earwigs gives a score of 0.0%. There are some issues with the article: for example, some of the organs in the "Works" section lack citations. The hook could also be better; as an impartial reader, I don't think it's that interesting. Perhaps a hook here involving this sentence ("A typical layout combines a Great division (Hauptwerk) in Baroque style with a Swell division (Schwellwerk) with timbres of the Romantic period, which makes it possible to play a wide range of organ repertory") could work here? • Thank you for the review. Good suggestion, but how would you put pictured in? Showing their style seems to me more particular than something many organ builders will do. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 05:13, 30 May 2018 (UTC)
The idea behind the hook was that cathedral organists (I took one of several, the one I heard, naturally ;) ) play on these instruments although the organs are in not too prominent places. How about another star or two (whom I also heard):
ALT1: ... that Orgelbau Mebold built a new organ (pictured) in St. Martin, Idstein in 2006, which has attracted organists such as Kalevi Kiviniemi and Matthias Eisenberg to play concerts? --Gerda Arendt (talk) 06:24, 30 May 2018 (UTC)
@Gerda Arendt: ALT1 seems okay: I'm not really familiar with organists so I'll AGF on that. In any case, the issue with some parts of the table not being sourced remains unaddressed, so the nomination can't proceed yet. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 01:27, 31 May 2018 (UTC)
Thank you! Wikipedia is there to familiarize you with two great organists ;) - We can do three things: you wait until I source the other (minor) works, or you look at the German page where they are pictured, so exist, or we comment them out until DYK is over. I have no time for sourcing right now. - Btw, tables are not counted for DYK content, in terms of characters. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 06:17, 31 May 2018 (UTC)
I suppose I can wait for the improvements. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 07:25, 31 May 2018 (UTC)
I added some citations inline. Others are in external links. Finally there's an official website. Please look again, Narutolovehinata5. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 20:37, 1 June 2018 (UTC)
DYK that we can source to an official website? I even wrote that some organs are (photographed and described) in external links, at least that's what I meant to say. They exist. - Some days I feel more than others that English isn't my first language. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 13:49, 3 June 2018 (UTC)
@Gerda Arendt: Sourcing to official websites is fine; it just that some table fields still lack a footnote. While theoretically they're optional anyway, it would still be good practice to include them. Alternatively, you could also add a footnote at the top of the table as a general reference for the whole table. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 13:57, 3 June 2018 (UTC)
I added the list of new organs (Neubauten) on top, a click on the images goes to the details. There are other pages for the small instruments and restoration. Out for today, lovely day! --Gerda Arendt (talk) 14:08, 3 June 2018 (UTC)
I've checked the new source and the rest of the table checks out now. It's in German so accepted AGF, but I looked at it and everything was verified so it's also accepted on that ground. ALT1 is good to go. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 10:12, 4 June 2018 (UTC)
