  • Within policy: The article has copyvio issues with [1] and [2]. The first link is a bigger violation.

  • Hook format: The first hook is interesting, but it is kind of weird that Paradise Airlines does not have its own article. The article is notable without a doubt and its grounding is cited well.
Maybe instead of "revoked the airline's permission to fly passenger flights?" say "grounded the airline's operations" That is up to you.
  • Content: These are very interesting hooks. A lesser known airline's being grounded after a crash is interesting, especially with the 737 MAX controversy happening right now. Passes Content.
  • QPQ: This is your first DYK nomination, meaning you are excused from the QPQ rule.

  • The first link is the CAB report, which is PD as a work of the US Government. Nonetheless, the article directly quotes the probable cause statement from that report (which appears twice there), so that makes the copyvio percentage appear much higher. The other part where I was a little unoriginal in my phrasing was the technical discussion of the fluxgate compass, which I didn't want to mess up by trying to paraphrase too much. The second link is Aviation Safety Network, and the segment of the article that Earwig's copyvio detector flags as a possible copyvio is where both the article and the website directly quote the probable cause statement from the CAB report.
  • Paradise Airlines doesn't have its own article, yet. I deliberately entered it as a redlink and will possibly create it one of these days. Aside from this incident, which was major news, the company also was in a highly public battle with the CAB over whether or not it should be regulated as an interstate carrier or not, so the company meets notability minimums, and I had no problem locating news sources about the company when I was researching for this article.
  • Hook; I thought the revoked phrasing was better because grounding sounds more temporary, whereas the FAA decision was more of a death sentence for the company; they literally cancelled the company's license to operate flights. But I'm open to better phrasing.

  • @RecycledPixels: I see what you mean with the copyvio. Plane crash reports will always trigger. Paradise Airlines should get its own article if there is a crash article based upon it, especially if this is cleared for DYK. A red link is fine for now and if this is passed for DYK, it may encourage editors to create an article.
