Based on the comments above, and the fact that the nominator hasn't edited in over a month, sadly I don't think there's much more that can be done with this nomination

Patliputra University

[edit]
  • ... that ...Patliputra University was created by bifurcation of Magadh University? Source: "Patliputra University, carved out of Magadh University and headquartered in Patna, will have some of the best educational institutions in Patna under it." [1]
    • ALT1:... that ... over 150 professors applied for the post of vice–chancellor of Patliputra University? Source: "The Raj Bhavan’s advertisement for the posts of VC and pro-VC of the yet to be inaugurated Pataliputra University has elicited a very good response as 171 professors have so far applied for the twin jobs." [2]
  • Comment: QPQ is under process. Alternate hook suggestions are welcome.

  • @Narutolovehinata5: I thought bifurcation of university is unusual for rest of the world, or is it a common practice? Pratyush (talk) 15:00, 7 July 2018 (UTC)
It's relatively common, if not at least routine. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 23:00, 7 July 2018 (UTC)
ALT2:... that Patliputra University consists of more than 125 colleges including two engineering colleges, and a dozen pharmacy colleges? Source:[3]

General: Article is new enough and long enough
Policy: Article is sourced, neutral, and free of copyright problems

Hook eligibility:

  • Cited: Yes
  • Interesting: No - ?
  • Other problems: No - While the number of colleges (125) sounds I'm impressive, I'm not sure if this is particularly uncommon, especially with Indian universities.
QPQ: Done.

Overall: The technical requirements are met, but a second review (ideally from someone with an interest in academics) is needed to check the hook interest for ALT2. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 23:29, 10 July 2018 (UTC)

I agree that the current hook is not very interesting. ALT2 sounds a bit too "promotional". Does the creation of Patlipura University indicate that there are more people attending university in India? Are the academic centers changing or growing? It looks like the staffing shortage is the government's fault... is there a reason for that? Since the university is so new, it isn't well-known for anything yet. What is a pharmacy college? I'm surprised that there's a need for more than one. Those are some things that might make an interesting hook, depending on the answer.Rachel Helps (BYU) (talk) 17:17, 26 July 2018 (UTC)
@PratyushSinha101:, did you have ideas for an alternate hook based on my questions? Rachel Helps (BYU) (talk) 15:29, 20 August 2018 (UTC)
  • @Rachel Helps (BYU): I have to note that the nominator has not edited in quite a while, and neither has the primary contributor. I could mark this for closure right now, but the nomination deserves another chance, so what I'll do is I'll leave a message over at WT:INDIA if anyone is willing to adopt it. If no responses are given, or otherwise responses are negative, then I will mark this for closure. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 01:37, 24 August 2018 (UTC)
  • Pinging SshibumXZ who said that they were willing to give this nomination a look. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 13:40, 27 August 2018 (UTC)
  • @Rachel Helps (BYU) and Narutolovehinata5: so, I did a quick copy edit with this [4] edit. I'll now try to answer Rachel's questions.

Does the creation of Patlipura [sic] University indicate that there are more people attending university in India?

There are more than 1,000 900 universities in India, I don't think addition of one more is going to have a significant impact on university enrollment rate in India.

Are the academic centers changing or growing?

The primary reason for the university's creations seems to be too much centralisation at Magadh University, so, whilst a lot of colleges are affiliated to Patliputra University, with more to be added, but again, it's not as if this is the country's, state's, division's, or even the district's first university.

It looks like the staffing shortage is the government's fault... is there a reason for that?

The usual bureaucratic process, from the looks of it.

What is a pharmacy college?

A college for people interested in pursuing pharmacy.
As for Naruto's comment:

While the number of colleges (125) sounds I'm impressive, I'm not sure if this is particularly uncommon, especially with Indian universities.

According to the latest report (for the year of 2017–18) of the All India Survey on Higher Education, "There are 903 Universities, 39050 Colleges and 10011 Stand Alone Institutionslisted [sic] on AISHE".[1] So, going by that, on average, an Indian university can have more than 40 constituent colleges.
I have no further comment to make, I'll not suggest another hook, as it'd be difficult to find, especially considering the institute's newness. Promoting or not promoting this is your call.
