Pragyananda Mahasthavir[edit]

Created/expanded by Karrattul (talk). Self nom at 18:13, 15 May 2012 (UTC)

  • New enough, long enough, referenced. However, a few expressions are copied directly from the sources, such as: "the first yellow-robed monk to appear on the streets of Kathmandu", "went on to study Ayurvedic medicine". Also, the sources emphasize that Pragyananda switched from the Tibetan tradition to Theravada Buddhism, which is not stressed enough in the article, and if he is called "the first Sangha Mahanayaka (chief monk) of modern Nepal" (footnote 5), then that fact should be mentioned in the lead. In general, the article seems like a sketch rather than a full biography, while you do have plenty of information in your sources to fill it out. Yoninah (talk) 22:28, 22 May 2012 (UTC)
  • Thanks for reviewing the article. Improvements have been made as per your recommendations. Rgd. Karrattul (talk) 05:35, 25 May 2012 (UTC)
  • Good job! Now I just have one question about the hook. Do you think it will attract more readers if it says:
  • ALT1: ... that Pragyananda Mahasthavir was the first monk wearing yellow robes to be seen in Kathmandu since the 14th century? Yoninah (talk) 15:06, 25 May 2012 (UTC)
  • I think we should mention the word Buddhist like "... first Buddhist monk wearing ...". Rgd. Karrattul (talk) 11:50, 26 May 2012 (UTC)
