Richard Jasek[edit]

Created/expanded by 5 albert square (talk). Self nom at 07:21, 1 March 2012 (UTC)

  • Article is new enough and long enough, and it's amply sourced. However, sourcing for hook fact seems weak. Not only is the Adelaide Biplanes website a bit on the borderline as a source, but I get the impression from the interview posted there that he had worked in television before he went to British Caledonian. Additionally, there's no indication of what kind of work he did for the airline -- for all I can tell, he was making TV commercials. I suggest an alternate hook -- possibly about his family arriving in Australia from communist Czechoslovakia as asylum seekers, or about his father being a concert violinist, or about the young age at which he started making movies. --Orlady (talk) 15:50, 12 March 2012 (UTC)
I hope 5asq doesn't mind if I suggest a couple of hooks, since I helped create/expand the article too. How about ... that television producer and director Richard Jasek's father was a concert violinist who was coerced into becoming a spy? or ... that in October 2011 Richard Jasek became the executive producer of the Australian soap opera Neighbours? - JuneGloom Talk 01:17, 14 March 2012 (UTC)
  • By George, she's got it! I hereby approve and commend the following hook:
  • ALT1 ... that television producer and director Richard Jasek's father was a concert violinist who was coerced into becoming a spy?
I've also added JuneGloom07 to the DYKmake credits. --Orlady (talk) 02:27, 14 March 2012 (UTC)
Yup, I'm happy with the other suggestion :)--5 albert square (talk) 06:56, 14 March 2012 (UTC)
