• This article is new enough and long enough, and it utilizes appropriate sources which are internally cited within the text. There are no copyvios, and the hook's content is sourced and verifiable. • I'm concerned that some of the phrasing in this article is too close to that of its sources. Compare for example "Pore water pressure in the saturated bank reduces the frictional shear strength of the soil and increases sliding forces. This type of failure is most common in fine grained soils because they cannot drain as rapidly" with "The pore water pressure in the bank reduces frictional shear strength of the soil and increases sliding forces by adding weight to the soil mass. This type of failure tends to occur in fine-grained soils that do not drain rapidly". There are also some instances of the source being misinterpreted: for example, the sentence "If the cohesionless soil is at the toe of the bank, these layers are protected by the layers of cohesive soil" is supported by a source that says "Where cohesionless soil is not at the toe of the bank, the layers of cohesionless soil are protected by adjacent layers of cohesive soils" (my emphasis).
