Article is new enough at the time of the nomination, and meets the length requirements. The hook is interesting and cited inline. No copyright violations were found. However, I have several concerns about the article. Firstly, the article appears to only use a single source ([1]), which is repeated 16 times (multiple uses of one source are allowed, but there are better ways to do it, such as with named references to prevent redundancy). Secondly, the article's paragraphs are too short; I'd suggest combining several of the paragraphs into just a few, perhaps grouping them according to periods in her life. Finally, as the nominator already had more than 5 DYK credits at the time of this nomination, a QPQ is required. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 10:43, 5 October 2018 (UTC)
- Paragraphs are short because they have to be, by the rule of paragraphs: if you change the subject, you need a new paragraph. I used one source because there aren't many articles online about 40yr old drag racing events, & I don't have 40yr old back issues of National Dragster, or I'd have used them in the first place. I'd merge the footnotes, but I am so bad at it, I'm bound to screw it up. And I have looked at a couple of nominated DYKs, & commented; if that doesn't qualify as a formal review, or meet the QPQ standard, do what you want with this; if it doesn't make the Main Page, I won't miss it. - @Mary Mark Ockerbloom: Based on comments left by the nominator here and another nomination, they appear to be unwilling to continue the nomination themselves. As you helped in improving the article issues, are you willing to adopt the nomination to help it move forward? - Thanks. I've taken the liberty of adding a co-nominaton credit to Mary for the work she's done, and the sourcing and structuring issues have been addressed. Although Earwigs gives a high score, it's due to the quote that's cited inline. Otherwise, there no longer appear to be any remaining issues. In the interest of this moving forward, I'm donating a QPQ here (Template:Did you know nominations/Cima volcanic field). The hook is cited inline, and though I feel the hook content is somewhat niche and people might not be familiar with what a Gas class is, being the first woman to do something usually makes for a good hook, as is the case here. This is good to go.

- You're right, there's room for ignorance; I was hoping "first woman licenced by NHRA" would do it, for most people, & those who know a bit more might think of Shirley Muldowney or Shirley Shahan or Carol Cox.
