  • Hi Malik + DYK team! I've fact-checked the article and expanded it. This is such a great story, and the Rickfords seem like a fun family. [1] They're also consummate academics. Could you keep this article off the main page until Russell Rickford has replied to my request for a picture? Also, the article on his father, John R. Rickford, needs work. It would be rude to have a good-size article on his son with a link to a stub about him. Best — DracoE 21:38, 26 November 2011 (UTC)
  • Thank you for significantly expanding the article, Draco. I'd like to add you to the DYK nomination. — Malik Shabazz Talk/Stalk 06:29, 27 November 2011 (UTC)
  • Thank you, Malik. That is very kind. I've now written to Russell Rickford, and done some minor work on his dad's article. Unfortunately, the next few days are busy for me. I'd be grateful if you could lavish some love on the biography for John Rickford. The man's an academic giant, and the WP article is not doing him justice. Best — DracoE 15:49, 27 November 2011 (UTC)
  • Article length, date and citing OK. The hook is interesting, short enough and is backed by the cited source. Several checks reveal no evidence of plagiarism/copyvio issues. Note to promoters that there is a request above to wait, if possible, until a picture is available. Mikenorton (talk) 19:29, 30 November 2011 (UTC)
