Sarah Frey[edit]

  • ... that in 2016, Sarah Frey (pictured) was America's most prolific pumpkin grower? Source: "Sarah Frey grows more pumpkins than anyone else in the US. Last year, a poor season, she shipped more than five million, mostly jacks, the Halloween model, not suitable for eating." [1]

  • Article is long enough, was submitted to DYK less than a week after creation, and nominator has provided a QPQ. The hook is also neutral, well-sourced, intriguing, and I can't find any copyvios. Good to go! Snuggums (talk / edits) 00:30, 21 March 2018 (UTC)
  • Hi, I came by to promote this, but the article wording is not verified by the source. The Mercury source says: "Sarah Frey grows more pumpkins than anyone else in the US. Last year, a poor season, she shipped more than five million". The article conflates these two facts to come up with: "In 2016, Frey sold around five million pumpkins, more than anyone else in the US." Please fix this. Yoninah (talk) 22:42, 26 March 2018 (UTC)
  • Facepalm Facepalm I must've misread something in that case. A more faithful attribution in that case will of course he needed. Snuggums (talk / edits) 04:36, 27 March 2018 (UTC)

I can't think of any other hook. If nobody else can, close the nomination. Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 11:13, 27 March 2018 (UTC)

  • There is the idea of just mentioning 5M for 2016. Snuggums (talk / edits) 11:48, 27 March 2018 (UTC)
  • Ritchie333 the problem is not the hook, but the article. I went ahead and fixed up the cites for you. Here is a tweaked hook:
  • ALT1: ... that Sarah Frey (pictured) is America's most prolific pumpkin grower? Yoninah (talk) 12:04, 27 March 2018 (UTC)
Oh sure, I was trying to come up with something more creative than somebody growing a lot of pumpkins. But let's go with ALT1. Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 12:24, 27 March 2018 (UTC)

New reviewer required for ALT1. Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 13:03, 27 March 2018 (UTC)

Am I still eligible to review the ALT? Snuggums (talk / edits) 16:24, 27 March 2018 (UTC)
Ummm, I think so. Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 16:30, 27 March 2018 (UTC)
In that case, nothing of concern and we're set. Snuggums (talk / edits) 16:33, 27 March 2018 (UTC)
