Hi, I came by to promote this, but I saw an interesting fact in footnote 3 which, if added to the article, would make a better hook: Sea otters and seabirds seem to be able to detect the toxin and avoid tainted clams, though humans cannot. Yoninah (talk) 13:48, 19 February 2019 (UTC)

- @Yoninah: No. Usually the clams are good to eat and humans, otters and seabirds eat them, but when they are tainted, humans cannot detect the fact, but otters and seabirds seem to know that the clams should be avoided. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 14:41, 19 February 2019 (UTC)
