- I'll suggest a couple ALTs that are more focused and also link to the relevant section of star (classification). I don't think it's that uncommon for two-star recruits to be signed as undrafted free agents; for example, I don't know his star ranking (if he even was rated), but Clay Matthews III got no I-A offers and started college as a walk-on. To me the more interesting point is the immediate turnaround from recruit ranking to collegiate performance. So:
- ALT1 ... that despite being a two-star recruit, American football player Scott Lutrus went on to become a four-year starter at Connecticut?
- ALT2 ... that despite being a two-star recruit in 2006, American football player Scott Lutrus was a 2007 Freshman All-American at Connecticut?

Creation date, length, and referencing all good. I agree with Cmadler that ALT2 is the best, so let's go with that one. One comment to add: The section of the star (classification) article that deals with college football doesn't discuss the significance of each star rating. The place where you'll find that is in the "Terminology" section of recruiting (college athletics); I changed the link in the hook to point to that location. — Dale Arnett (talk) 08:37, 20 August 2011 (UTC)
