Selwyn, New Zealand

[edit]

Ruins of a house in Selwyn

  • ... that the settlement of Selwyn in New Zealand was planned for a population of 2,000 residents?

Created/expanded by Schwede66 (talk). Self nom at 22:09, 24 August 2012 (UTC)

  • Ok, I've got a photo now. How about ALT1 and putting this onto the mainpage during September? Schwede66 21:01, 25 August 2012 (UTC)
  • ALT1 ... that Selwyn in New Zealand, which celebrates its 150th birthday this month, was planned for 2,000 residents, but was depopulated by flooding and now has many ruined buildings (ruins pictured)?
  • Expansion length & date, QPQ and image rights all fine, AGF for offline sources. Suggest running with image and ALT1 during September as requested by the nominator - Basement12 (T.C) 21:07, 26 August 2012 (UTC)
  • Thanks for the review. I didn't want to change ALT1 subsequent to you giving it a tick, hence I have provided ALT2 with one word changed. If the photo is to be used, this would be the better hook, as it avoids the repetition of the word 'ruin'. Schwede66 06:04, 27 August 2012 (UTC)
  • ALT2 ... that Selwyn in New Zealand, which celebrates its 150th birthday this month, was planned for 2,000 residents, but was depopulated by flooding and now has many derelict buildings (ruins pictured)?
I think we can cope with changing one word. Still good to go with ALT2 and the image - Basement12 (T.C) 21:49, 27 August 2012 (UTC)
  • Note: Please hold so that the hook runs sometime in September. BlueMoonset (talk) 00:37, 29 August 2012 (UTC)
