Simón (2023 film)

  • ... that Simón was Venezuelan filmmaker Diego Vicentini's debut film? Source: "Simón, el primer largometraje del director Diego Vicentini obligado a huir del país cuando era adolescente, nos brinda una visión poderosa y auténtica de los jóvenes que arriesgan todo para protestar contra el descenso de Venezuela a la tiranía." Revista Ronda
ALT1 ... that due to being produced during the COVID-19 pandemic, a scene in the film Simón used only 30 extras instead of the originally intended 250? Source: "El director quería grabar una escena en una concurrida discoteca de Miami. No lo pudo hacer. 'Tuve que ajustarla por temas del covid, tuve 30 extras en vez de 250.'" El Nacional

Overall: @NoonIcarus: Good article, but the hook isn't all that interesting. Is there anything better you can use? Onegreatjoke (talk) 20:00, 24 July 2023 (UTC)

@Onegreatjoke: Thank you. I admit that I went for the safest choice, since I wasn't very sure about other options. One that I found interesting is that due to the COVID pandemic restrictions, the extras in one of the scenes had to be reduced from originally 250 extras down to 30. This was only one of many of the restrcitions and changes caused by the pandemic, so it's possible to think about others if needed. Kind regards, --NoonIcarus (talk) 21:25, 24 July 2023 (UTC)
I had been planning to review this but it seems that OGJ got to it first. In any case, I do agree with them that the original hook wasn't very interesting or unusual. Maybe the following suggestions work better? I'm not really a fan of COVID-related hooks as I find them cheap, but I'll suggest one too in the interest of interestingness.
ALT1 ... the director of the 2023 Simón had difficulty looking for an actor to portray the protagonist as he needed a bilingual Venezuelan for the role?
ALT2 ... that due to being produced during the COVID-19 pandemic, a scene in the film Simón used only 30 extras instead of the originally intended 250?
I have to note that both of these hooks still need the relevant sentence to have a footnote at their end, but that can be done during the review process. Narutolovehinata5 (talk · contributions) 12:41, 25 July 2023 (UTC)
@Narutolovehinata5: Thank you very much for your help. I have added one of the hooks above with the quote and the source, but I can add the other one if editors like it. Best wishes, --NoonIcarus (talk) 22:55, 25 July 2023 (UTC)
Onegreatjoke didn't respond to the ping so a new editor is needed to sign this off. Narutolovehinata5 (talk · contributions) 02:15, 14 August 2023 (UTC)
I think the new hooks are alright. Onegreatjoke (talk) 00:22, 18 August 2023 (UTC)
Propose further rewording of ALT hook (insert word "nightclub", replace "produced" with "filmed" and delete "the film"):
ALT3: ... that due to being filmed during the COVID-19 pandemic, the nightclub scene in Simón used only 30 extras instead of the originally intended 250? Cielquiparle (talk) 04:29, 5 September 2023 (UTC)
