Smooth 70s & Absolute Radio 70s[edit]

- Comment: I know this one isn't great, so here's another suggestion: ALT1: "... that the UK radio station Smooth 70s was inspired by the Absolute Radio decades format?"

Both articles are long enough and new enough. No neutrality issues. Refs are in proper format. Random googling of various sentences indicated no concerns related to copyright violations or plagiarism in the articles. For the original hook, the hook fact is footnoted and the refs appear to be reliable. Okay but a bit boring and somewhat tautological. I am not sure about ALT1, as the refs do not support "inspired" -- "follows" in the refs is only good for supporting statements about the order of the launches. It is possible that GMG got the idea first but was slow to act, allowing Absolute to become the first to launch. Or it may simply be a case of a "copycat", no inspiration whatever. Are there better refs available? Maybe an interview of the stations' founding executives published somewhere? Anyway, how about a hook about them being the first ever ... in the UK? No such things exists in the UK till they were launched late in 2011? Something like that.... --PFHLai (talk) 23:03, 25 August 2012 (UTC)
- Will do another review a bit later today as have just finished a mammoth article and need to rest for a while. I haven't tracked down any good sources that could meet the above suggestions, but am still looking. I have another possibility from here though, which I'll add to the articles this evening, and which could go something like this:
- Alt 2: "...that Smooth 70s is the UK's only national 1970s radio station, while Absolute Radio 70s claims to be the UK's only station dedicated to the decade." Paul MacDermott (talk) 15:09, 26 August 2012 (UTC)
