Andrew M. Cuomo announced on Friday. [...] The quirk [the old station] survived until 2009, when a glossy new station replaced the old one at a cost of over $500 million. The authority has estimated the new station will cost $600 million to rebuild."

I prefer ALT1, if it was reordered a bit; a hook about the station being destroyed during September 11 and Hurricane Sandy would also be of great interest SounderBruce 07:04, 1 March 2018 (UTC)
- @SounderBruce: Regarding ALT1, I've now put "four years and eight months" in the article. Also, the station wasn't destroyed during 9/11, just unusable. epicgenius (talk) 14:09, 1 March 2018 (UTC)
