Article #2:

General: Article is new enough and long enough
Policy: Article is sourced, neutral, and free of copyright problems

Hook eligibility:

Image: Image is freely licensed, used in the article, and clear at 100px.
QPQ: Done.

Overall: Both of these generally look good; I don't see any problems with the article, qpqs check out; but, and this might be personal taste, I don't think it's a super interesting hook. I think you could make something interesting out of the fact that he was a Danish sculptor and that the statue was funded by the local Scandinavian community. • ALT1: ... that the terra cotta statue (pictured) by the Danish-American sculptor Nels N. Alling was entirely funded by the local Scandinavian community and dedicated on February 22, 1896, George Washington's birthday?
@Generalissima: Another suggestion, shorter:

I like ALT2! Generalissima (talk) 17:47, 21 January 2024 (UTC)
@Generalissima: Thanks. Also, do you approve of the special occasion request for February 22, WP:DYKSO? Thanks, Zeete (talk) 18:08, 21 January 2024 (UTC)
