I've struck the original hook. Two sources for the fact were provided, and the hook contradicts the online source. I've added a bit more material from that source and provided an altered hook which is supported by that source and is, I think, more interesting. I'd give ALT1 a conditional , but someone else should give final approval of my hook.
ALT1: ... that Indian businessman and builder T. Namberumal Chetty is said to have owned 99 residences in a neighbourhood of Chennai, but wouldn't purchase a 100th due to astrological reasons? MANdARAX  XAЯAbИAM 05:49, 25 September 2011 (UTC)
  • I've edited the alt hook because the source says that the 99 houses were in one particular neighbourhood; we don't know if he had other houses in other parts of the city. ALT1 hook checks out OK with that change. --Orlady (talk) 15:15, 25 September 2011 (UTC)
