Takeshi Murata[edit]

  • ... that Takeshi Murata's digitally animated kinetic sculpture "Melter 3-D" uses the principles of a 3D-zoetrope to create the appearance that it is "constantly melting into flowing ripples"?
  • ALT1:... that Takeshi Murata's digitally animated kinetic sculpture "Melter 3-D" uses the principles of a 3D-zoetrope to create the appearance that its surface is fluid and rippling?
  • ALT2:... that Takeshi Murata is an artist specializing in moving digital images, often based on distortions and modifications of pre-existing images?
  • ALT3:... that Takeshi Murata's short video "Monster Movie" (now on display at the Smithsonian American Art Museum) started with a "datamoshing" of the 1981 B-movie Caveman?
  • Reviewed: To come soon
  • Comment: For ALT3, the exhibit is open thru September 7, 2015, so this would be timely if it could reach the main page before the end of August. Failing that, change "now" to "recently".

Comment: I think both sculptures and videos should be italic, not quotation marks, --Gerda Arendt (talk) 13:31, 10 August 2015 (UTC)
  • This article is new enough and long enough. The first two hooks are backed up by an inline citation to a reliable source so I have struck the others. The article is neutral and I did not detect any close paraphrasing or other policy issues. Which leaves us with the question of the QPQ review; DESiegel said he would do one but I do not think one is required as he has had just 4 previous DYKs. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 19:49, 18 August 2015 (UTC)
