Te Aroha by-election, 1891[edit]

Portrait of Sir Walter Lawry Buller

  • Comment: Ok, by-elections don't lend themselves for gripping DYK hooks, but the above is my attempt of keeping is semi-interesting. The reason that I wrote the article is that Huia is going to the today's featured article on 6 February, Buller appears in the caption of the lead photo, and apart from having been a lawyer and ornithologist, he also wanted to become a politician (but he didn't succeed). Would be cool if the DYK could run at the same time as Huia is on the front page, but I realise that it's a steep ask, as 6 Feb isn't that far away. Regarding the image, something needs sorting regarding its permissions, but that's outside of my area of expertise. If that's a stumbling block, there are other images that can be cropped to become portraits.

Quibble: "attempt of ... Buller ... of entering" seems awkward. I propose ALT1 below: Aymatth2 (talk) 01:40, 21 February 2013 (UTC)
