Ted Longshaw[edit]

  • ALT1 ... that Ted Longshaw aside founding three governing bodies for radio-controlled car racing and helped to organise its first world championship event; as a signalman, he also served for the Royal Navy with Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh on the same ship at the end of Second World War?
  • Comment: Originally I was going to publish this article in a later date with others I've been working on but another user published this article without my knowledge and I only knew about the creation of this article recently so I have no choice but to nominate this late.

  • Comment: a more detailed discussion can be found here. I'd ask that reviewers consider allowing this late nomination under the circumstances. Stlwart111 22:16, 18 January 2015 (UTC)
  • Can we have a hook that's not such a jumble of miscellany? Also, what's it mean to serve under a ship? Was he a frogman? EEng (talk) 01:51, 23 January 2015 (UTC)
  • Revised hook to answer your question. Donnie Park (talk) 16:25, 26 January 2015 (UTC)
Um, ALT1 is a lot worse. Let me suggest:
ALT2 ... that Ted Longshaw founded three governing bodies for radio-controlled car racing?

  • Full review needed. Struck original and ALT1 hooks as being way above the 200 character maximum (which includes spaces). BlueMoonset (talk) 20:28, 19 February 2015 (UTC)
  • This article is acceptable datewise and is long enough. The ALT2 hook information was in the article and I have added some inline citations as required for DYK. The article is neutral and I did not detect any close paraphrasing. QPQ has not been done, but I will donate my review of Lutz Bachmann as this nomination has been hanging around for a long time.
