Teno Roncalio

5x expanded by Jon698 (talk). Self-nominated at 16:08, 13 January 2020 (UTC).

General: Article is new enough and long enough
Policy: Article is sourced, neutral, and free of copyright problems
Hook: Hook has been verified by provided inline citation
QPQ: None required.

Overall: WP:DYKCHECK throws up an error (presumably because of time elapsed) but differences in prose size if from 2,020 (5 Jan) to 10,873 (13 Jan). I prefer your ALT1, though a couple of (easy) fixes are needed. Citations are required for:

  1. "...was later awarded a Silver Star for gallantry in the Normandy invasion on Omaha Beach."
  2. "In 1976 he received his best electoral performance and easily defeated Larry J. Hart in a landslide."
  3. "...Roncalio would later support the 26th amendment when he returned to the House of Representatives in 1971"

I think that even though the hook is <200 chars, it's a bit wordy. The source doesn't mention Snake River Canyon as far as I can see, so a mention of just Snake River may suffice. May I propose:

  • Hey @MIDI: I made the edits to the article that you requested and I like your version of the hook. Jon698 (talk) 4:58, 20 January 2020 (UTC)
  • Thanks, in that case all good to go on ALT1b. MIDI (talk) 07:54, 21 January 2020 (UTC)
  • Hi, I came by to promote this, but I don't see an inline cite for the first part of the hook fact, that he was the first Democrat Congressman from Wyoming. Yoninah (talk) 23:19, 30 January 2020 (UTC)
  • Hey @Yoninah: I have added a source for that and hope that it will be promoted quickly. Also edited it for the hook that I wanted. Jon698 (talk) 23:46, 30 January 2020 (UTC)
  • @Jon698: What??? You edited the hook after it was approved? Please restore the original thread and then add your new alts at the bottom. They will need a new review. Yoninah (talk) 23:48, 30 January 2020 (UTC)
  • @Yoninah: I didn't add anything I just got rid of the first one because we agreed on the alt one instead, but I'll add it back. Nothing new was added. Jon698 (talk) 23:57, 30 January 2020 (UTC)
  • @Jon698: thank you. Since the reviewer approved ALT1b, I'm striking the other hooks. Now, what about the inline cite for the hook fact? Yoninah (talk) 00:36, 31 January 2020 (UTC)
  • Thank you for adding the cite. Restoring tick per MIDI's review. Yoninah (talk) 21:36, 10 February 2020 (UTC)
