Terry Dempsey (songwriter)[edit]

  • ... that Terry Dempsey was a South African songwriter whose songs reached number one in South Africa, the United Kingdom, France, Canada and Australia?
    • ALT1:... that Terry Dempsey, a songwriter who wrote David Cassidy's number one song "Daydreamer", was killed in a freak gyrocopter accident?

Created/expanded by Gbawden (talk). Self-nominated at 09:50, 19 February 2019 (UTC).

  • Note: this was a nomination that wasn't transcluded when it was first created back in February of this year. I recently discovered it in my periodic checks of untranscluded noms, and Gbawden was still interested in pursuing it (and has other currently active nominations), so I'm placing it under July 2, the day they confirmed their interest. The nomination's newness should be based on the February 19 nomination date. I have formatted the two hooks per DYK style; I am wondering, however, whether ALT1 would be appropriate given that Dempsey died in February, so BLP applies; not sure whether the details of the death should be included.
  • Reviewer needed to do a normal review of this nomination. Many thanks. BlueMoonset (talk) 04:41, 5 July 2019 (UTC)
  • This article was new enough when nominated and is long enough. I have struck ALT1 because of BLP concerns. The original hook facts are cited inline, the article is neutral and I detected no copyright or plagiarism issues. A QPQ has been done. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 08:32, 3 August 2019 (UTC)
