The Wolf of Wall Street (film)[edit]

Created/expanded by Robber93 (talk). Self nom at 19:01, 21 August 2012 (UTC)

  • Article is not newly created and according to the DYK checker tool, has not been expanded 5x either. Character length is 1285, and minimum requirement is 1500. I don't think "Collider.com" is a reliable source either. Aaron You Da One 21:19, 21 August 2012 (UTC)
  • To describe the issue further, prior to expansion the article had 781 prose characters, and it currently has 1308 according to DYKcheck. To meet the 5x expansion requirement, it must increase to 3405 prose characters, an additional 2097 characters (note that lists and such do not count as prose). In addition, there's at least one "citation needed" tag that needs to be addressed. If you think you can expand the article by that much in a reasonable amount of time, please let us know: you're welcome to try. If not, though, as Aaron notes, the article will not be eligible for DYK. BlueMoonset (talk) 06:12, 23 August 2012 (UTC)

Moved it to August 11. However, the prose text is still under 1,500-character minimum. Hope it is not too late... --George Ho (talk) 08:25, 30 August 2012 (UTC)

  • No response in a week, prose characters now down to 1274, and tag not addressed. Under the circumstances, I don't believe the article should be given an exception to DYK's five-day rule; restoring Aaron's X. BlueMoonset (talk) 19:02, 31 August 2012 (UTC)
  • It looks to me like it should be easy to bring this up to 1500 characters by adding prose about the true story and book on which the film is based, the specific roles to be played by different actors (for example, that Rob Reiner is Belfort's father and Kyle Chandler's character is an FBI agent), the film's budget, and other details that are in the infobox but not in the article text. --Orlady (talk) 21:26, 31 August 2012 (UTC)
  • Orlady, the goal isn't 1500, it's 3405 prose characters to make 5x, as noted above. Given an uninterested and unresponsive creator, a five-day-late nomination, and an article that needs to almost triple in size, I think we've been more than generous with this one. It's time to call a halt. There's always the possibility that this can be nominated anew once the movie has been released, if a major and rapid expansion is made to include plot and reception and all the rest.
