The Wolves of Midwinter[edit]

Created by Silver seren (talk). Self nominated at 22:34, 8 June 2014 (UTC).

  • This article is new enough and long enough and the hook is sufficiently sourced. I see that the plot section was a block quote and was removed. Do you want to replace it with something in your own words? I don't think it is possible to base a "setting" of a novel on an "atmosphere" so suggest a different hook: Cwmhiraeth (talk) 11:47, 15 June 2014 (UTC)
  • I'm fine with this alt. As for the Plot summary...i'm not every good with those. So I kinda avoid doing it. It wouldn't count toward my word count in the article anyways since plot summaries are inherently unreferenced. SilverserenC 22:13, 15 June 2014 (UTC)
I think another reviewer will be needed to approve the ALT1 hook. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 05:04, 16 June 2014 (UTC)
Okay. Another reviewer, please? SilverserenC 22:30, 16 June 2014 (UTC)
  • Review of ALT1. The above initial review by Cwmhiraeth still stands; I take it on trust; I am just making a few additions here. QPQ done. Re ALT1: Although I think the original hook is nearer the truth, since the author said something similar herself, I agree that readers would feel more comfortable with ALT1. It is acceptable and short enough, and it checks out with online citation #6. I have struck the original hook as per the consensus above, and because "atmosphere from" sounds awkward anyway. Re article: No problems with disambig links or with access to external links. The text is written in an objective manner, in neutral style, and is fully cited. All external links searched for sources of possible copyvio or close paraphrasing; none found. Issue: There is something odd in the mix of "he" and "I" in the Jeff Eastin quote in the Background section. If Eastin is speaking, then he should be saying "I" unless he is speaking about someone else - so who is "he"? You could magically solve this mystery by changing "to Rice stating that" to "to Rice who stated that". If this single issue can be resolved, this nom should be OK. --Storye book (talk) 14:33, 19 June 2014 (UTC)
  • Okay, fixed it. All good now? Oh, and I don't know if you noticed, but it was Cwmhiraeth who came up with the Alt hook, not me, which is why he wanted another reviewer, since he couldn't approve his own hook. SilverserenC 07:59, 20 June 2014 (UTC)
