Thomas Hjalmar Westgård

[edit]
  • ... that although Thomas Hjalmar Westgård was born and raised in Norway, he competes internationally in cross-country skiing for Ireland? Source: "...skal gå minst tre distanser i VM i Lahti - for Irland." "Westgård er født og oppvokst i Leka i Nord-Trøndelag..." Aftenposten article (English translation: [Westgård] is going to compete in at least three races in the World Championships in Lahti - for Ireland" "Westgård is born and raised in Leka in Nord-Trøndelag...)

  • Article is new and the readable prose is of sufficient length. The article is currently tagged as a stub, though with 11 sources, this can probably be removed. Hook lenght is ok. It is cited to a Norwegian-language websites, but google translate's rather approximate translation confirms that the subject competes for Ireland and was born in Norway. The Snow Sports Ireland article gives an alternative name, Thomas Maloney Westgaard, which should probably be included in the article. Is Maloney another middle name or his mother's family name perhaps? The references at the end of the second paragraph should be swapped to be in numerical order. • Yes, the stub business is left in place by mistake, the article has been assessed as Start class. I went ahead and removed it.
Maloney is his mother's family name, yes. I added something about that from the cited sources. Westgaard is an alternative way of spelling his surname, if one does not have easy access to the letter å.
The thing with numerical order of references I've never heard of before, at least not as a requirement for DYK. I reordered them, but is that a requirement? Manxruler (talk) 12:17, 11 March 2017 (UTC)
No it's not a requirement - just a stylistic observation. This looks good to go; you just need to do your review of another DYK nomination. DavidCane (talk) 13:06, 11 March 2017 (UTC)
I agree that it looks nicer. I'll get to the reviewing as soon as possible, but probably not until tomorrow, I have somewhat of a busy day today. Will ping you as soon I've done my review. Manxruler (talk) 13:59, 11 March 2017 (UTC)
@DavidCane: As you can see, Oceanh has provided a review. Thus we should be good to go. Manxruler (talk) 23:52, 11 March 2017 (UTC)
Now good to go. DavidCane (talk) 21:32, 13 March 2017 (UTC)
