Tie the Knot (TV series)

[edit]

Created by 001Jrm (talk). Self-nominated at 06:36, 21 April 2015 (UTC).

  • The article was sufficiently long (3,770 characters) on the date of its creation. It appears to be adequately referenced, and does not contain any copyright violations or close paraphrasing. The hook is an appropriate length, and is referenced by footnote 11 (accepted in good faith as it is not in English). I would suggest using ALT1, which is my rephrasing of the original hook. — SMUconlaw (talk) 14:34, 6 June 2015 (UTC)
  • Pulled from prep. The article needs a thorough copyedit before it can be promoted. Run-on sentences such as--
  • The series was the first for veteran actor Zhang Peihua in fifteen years without filming in Taiwan, playing the role of Nylon Chen's father, although he occasionally involved himself in theater.
  • He played Huang Shi Jia in the series, a stiff and strict character but also able to be funny at times, commenting that he was surprised that he was relaxed while acting as he has a reserved personality.
  • It was because it was already around midnight when it was filmed and she was the only one in the scene that she did not want the crew to stay longer after filming the whole day. She also had to make sure that the car that she was driving will not collide while crying hard so she had to rely on the song for her to be able to multitask.
  • --show little understanding of English grammar and sentence structure. Yoninah (talk) 09:25, 9 June 2015 (UTC)
  • Sorry about that. Please check the article again, if you may, seeing that there was already someone who copyedited it. 001Jrm (talk) 18:52, 9 June 2015 (UTC)
  • Sorry, it needs more copyediting. The third example cited above is still too long and too chatty. Most of the production section is too chatty. Just stick to the facts. Yoninah (talk) 19:42, 9 June 2015 (UTC)
  • I tried editing the 'production' section, mostly deleting some sentences. Hopefully it's not too long and chatty anymore. 001Jrm (talk) 20:08, 9 June 2015 (UTC)
  • OK, I went through the whole article and edited it for English grammar. I tagged one line where I didn't understand what you were talking about; do you mean: "The pilot episode of Tie the Knot ranked fifth amongst the television shows airing in the same time slot"? Regarding the hook fact, did Yang listen to the song during filming, or before? Yoninah (talk) 20:51, 16 June 2015 (UTC)
  • Thank you so much! Yes, I meant it like that. (I already copy+pasted the sentence to the article) As for the hook, it was not clear if it's before or during the filming. The source only stated that she made use of the song to cry. 001Jrm (talk) 18:01, 17 June 2015 (UTC)
  • OK, we are good to go. Foreign-language hook ref verified and cited inline. Here is a tighter version of the hook:
  • ALT2: ... that actress Cheryl Yang listened to the song "My Destiny" from My Love from the Star so she could arouse her emotions and cry in a scene in Tie the Knot? Yoninah (talk) 18:12, 17 June 2015 (UTC)
