Tim Yap[edit]

TV and radio host Tim Yap

  • ... that as a child, Filipino TV and radio personality Tim Yap (pictured) sneaked out of school to attend rehearsals of a Repertory Philippines production of Lost in Yonkers?

Moved to mainspace by Mr. Stradivarius (talk). Nominated by I'm Tony Ahn (talk) at 04:06, 5 November 2013 (UTC).

  • Long enough, created within time. Interesting hook, well cited. A good deal of the sources had paywalls or the links moved, so I am accepting AGF.--¿3family6 contribs 01:47, 28 November 2013 (UTC)
  • I've removed the dead references (all of which were just supporting references that had multiple citations). None of the articles are behind paywalls. I'm Tony Ahn (talk) 05:32, 28 November 2013 (UTC)

This nomination was pulled from the prep area, because an editor at WT:DYK noticed that Lost in Yonkers is not in the text of the article. — Maile (talk) 01:37, 30 November 2013 (UTC)

  • Fixed. Article now specifically mentions Lost in Yonkers. I'm Tony Ahn (talk) 02:18, 30 November 2013 (UTC)
  • Hook needs a new review here by a new editor. This was added back to a prep area, but I've pulled it again.
  • When checking the editor's "Lost in Yonkers" addition to the article text, the two sources at the end of the sentence said "Page Not Found" when I tried to access them.
  • When running the "External links" option on this template multiple links need attention.
  • Disambig links option on this template show two dablinks needing attention.
New review, please. — Maile (talk) 14:42, 30 November 2013 (UTC)
I was able to access the second source, didn't get a page not found error.[1]. You're right that the first one was bad though. I've fixed that by adding an archive URL. Also, I'm not sure what toolserver's problem is, but Reference 7 is marked as suspicious (soft 404) yet its there[2]. I also fixed the other dead reference by adding an archive URL. Both of the archive URLs are behind paywalls, but according to WP:PAYWALL they should not be rejected for that reason, right? I'm Tony Ahn (talk) 03:08, 1 December 2013 (UTC)
Nobody is rejecting this, just to be clear. But the procedure at DYK would necessitate an editor other than me to verify source to the "Lost in Yonkers" on the hook, even if that just seems like going through the motions. I don't think this nom is in danger of being rejected. It just needs to go through that final little part of the process. Also, I cannot explain the Reference 7 "suspicious" thing, but I wouldn't lose any sleep over it. — Maile (talk) 01:45, 2 December 2013 (UTC)
So can I re-approve the nomination, or does someone else have to?--¿3family6 contribs 02:11, 2 December 2013 (UTC)
Oh, when I said "rejected" I didn't mean the DYK nom, just the paywall references themselves. And thanks! I'm Tony Ahn (talk) 00:48, 3 December 2013 (UTC)
Go for it. Let's get this thing back in play for a Prep area. — Maile (talk) 13:25, 2 December 2013 (UTC)
  • Re-approved. Dead url issue is resolved, and all hook content mentioned in text.--¿3family6 contribs 18:12, 2 December 2013 (UTC)
