Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six (video game)

Improved to Good Article status by AdoTang (talk). Self-nominated at 00:54, 23 March 2023 (UTC). • The article seems good, but has various citation errors. I also suggest this hook instead - ALT6 ... that a gameplay demonstration of Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six boosted its popularity when it accidentally showed AI teammates rescuing hostages by themselves?
With regards to the Game Boy Color hook, I actually think a separate article should be created for it, since it's a totally different game, not a "port". However, that shouldn't affect the quality of this article. ᴢxᴄᴠʙɴᴍ () 08:30, 23 March 2023 (UTC)
Hey, thanks for checking this out.
  • Was a bit confused as to what "citation issues" entailed, but I just found them. Not sure how they weren't picked up in the GA review, but I've fixed them now.
  • Yeah, your suggested hook for the GBC version works; it could totally replace my ALT2. However, I still believe ALT0 and ALT1 hold up very well.
  • I was partially considering that, but I don't believe there are enough sources (at least accessible sources) that could be used to make an article. Plus, as far as I can tell, many sources and reviews describe the GBC version as a port or adaptation and not a separate game.

@AdoTang:There are definitely sources to write a GBC article. GameSpot, Nintendo Power and IGN are already enough, and there are many more on MobyGames. While it's definitely an "adaptation", there's enough there for its own page. Many times portable "versions" are confused for the same game, when they really are not. Rainbow Six: Rogue Spear on GBA also seems like a different game that requires a separate article to discuss.
So... wait, are we going with the hook I suggested then, or do you not think it's good? I was suggesting for this game in particular. ᴢxᴄᴠʙɴᴍ () 12:08, 23 March 2023 (UTC)
@Zxcvbnm: For now, I think the GBC version can be spun off into its own article later.
Your hook is fine, I was just saying that for whoever gets to choose the hook (still unsure who does that).
If GBC information really can have its own article, I'd suggest we hold off on mentioning it here, as that information could suit a DYK for the GBC version's own page. AdoTang (talk) 12:18, 23 March 2023 (UTC)
Okay, approved for DYK using the hook I mentioned. ᴢxᴄᴠʙɴᴍ () 12:33, 23 March 2023 (UTC)

Zxcvbnm, you can't approve your own hook! And when you suggest hooks, you need to give them an ALT number so that there is never any ambiguity which hook we are talking about (I've numbered your hook ALT6). Schwede66 03:22, 3 April 2023 (UTC)

Schwede66 Am I supposed to approve the hook then? Still not entirely sure how this works. If yes, let me know and I will, but if not, I'd love for a third party to check this one out. AdoTang (talk) 10:37, 11 April 2023 (UTC)
No. You suggested the hook. Hence you can't approve it. Marking this with the "new review" logo will ensure that another editor will come along and look into it. There's nothing for you to do other than being patient :-) Schwede66 12:21, 11 April 2023 (UTC)
  • Approve ALT6. Good to go. BorgQueen (talk) 16:28, 18 April 2023 (UTC)
