- Changed blurb. The character is called The Doctor, not Doctor Who. :) By the way, posting this as a DYK might save us folks at ITN a bit of a headache. --LukeSurl t c 09:31, 5 August 2013 (UTC)
- Comment: This was on ITN for half an hour; I'm not sure how strict DYK is about Criterion 1(e). -- tariqabjotu 10:01, 5 August 2013 (UTC)
- Personally, I would have said that that didn't really count, but I'm not sure how strict about it they are. Matty.007 10:14, 5 August 2013 (UTC)
- As I noted at WP:ITN/C, the fact that the admin who posted it to the ITN template bolded the link to this article rather than Peter Capaldi is the only reason it fails 1(e). Coupled with the 30 minute appearance, I'm fairly content we can overlook that criteria per WP:IAR and WP:NOTBURO. I have no personal position on wether this makes the main page or not, but declining the DYK for a thirty minute ITN appearance only would be a bit silly.Pedro : Chat 10:17, 5 August 2013 (UTC)
- Comments: ITN controversy notwithstanding. Perhaps the blurb would be more interesting if it was changed to something like "that actor Peter Capaldi, who will play the Twelfth Doctor in Doctor Who, is at 55 the same age as the First Doctor William Hartnell when he was cast in 1963?" Sometimes DYKs are about specific strange facts that less people would know (at least from my experience with it). I'd also suggest combining "Background" with "Casting", as it's still about the actor rather than the character (which is what the overall article is about). The stuff about the Christmas special/Series 8 and Clara could be moved up to the lead. Otherwise, awesome job and it's going to be fun watching this article grow! - By the way, the new addition about Colin Baker will need a source. Glimmer721 talk 22:08, 5 August 2013 (UTC)
