Tyke (pigeon)

[edit]
  • ... that the Second World War homing pigeon Tyke won a gallantry medal for reporting the location of a downed American bomber?

Created/expanded by Miyagawa (talk). Self nom at 20:50, 7 April 2012 (UTC)

  • Length and date checks out. But I can't find in the references any mention that the downed plane was American. Perhaps an additional ref or just leaving the 'American' part out of the hook? --Soman (talk) 13:42, 8 April 2012 (UTC)
Reference #4 says "Among the 31 pigeons was Tyke, honoured for delivering a message which saved an American air crew." - it was why I added the citation directly after the American mention. Miyagawa (talk) 13:54, 8 April 2012 (UTC)
  • Somehow I managed to miss that, sorry. Good to go. --Soman (talk) 14:06, 8 April 2012 (UTC)
