Use of bayonets for crowd control[edit]
- ... that during 1968 revisions to the U.S. Army Field Manuals, there was an attempt to eliminate the use of bayonets for crowd control?

New enough, long enough. I wasn't able to access almost any of the sources, including the one supporting the hook, so AGFing.
Notes:
1. United Kingdon: "[U]sing it during operations during the Hong Kong 1956 riots" sounds a bit repetitive.
2. United States, paragraph 2, the last sentence. This source [1] says only "Their World War II-era M1 rifles were tipped with bayonets", it doesn't say anyone was injured by them. There's one more source, though. And I can't access it.
3. (Update.) @DarjeelingTea: I've found out that I can actually access the book used as the source for the hook. You should have specified the page by adding "&pg=PA1" (where "1" is the page number). You can use the so-called "Wikipedia citation tool for Google Books" from Help:Citation tools.
