Utica, New York[edit]

  • ALT1:... that the Lewis gun, used heavily by the British Army during World War I, was produced by Savage Arms in Utica, New York?
  • Comment: I don't know if it's been 7 days since the heavy editing but I added over 40,000 bytes in 10 days last month. This is also my first DYK so I don't know if it was transcluded under the right date header.

5x expanded by Buffaboy (talk). Self-nominated at 03:02, 3 May 2015 (UTC).

  • April 25 revision (27,000+ characters/bytes in prose) wasn't fivefold shorter. Even with additional details, expansion wasn't a fivefold. Neither was one of March revisions (14kb in prose). Fivefold means you must expand the article a lot (id est 14 x 5 = 70kb). I don't think you can pull it off. Don't worry. One of my earliest nominations, Template:did you know nominations/Sam and Diane (2013), was too late. I won't go too harsh on you. You still might have a chance when the article is promoted as a Good Article. Otherwise, good luck next time on another article. --George Ho (talk) 03:53, 3 May 2015 (UTC)
In addition, the nomination may have been too late as the expansion started last month. Under WP:DYK, the article or expansion of the article must be very, very fresh, id est seven days or less. George Ho (talk) 03:57, 3 May 2015 (UTC)
That was quick! It makes sense now, and yours was setup similar to mine it seems. Hopefully it can pass GA, though I won't hold my breath. In the meantime I'll continue working with similar articles. Buffaboy talk 04:00, 3 May 2015 (UTC)
