not a 5x expansion per addition of copied text from pre-existing article

WWIZ (Lorain, Ohio)

  • ... that WWIZ in Lorain, Ohio, lost its license after a transaction meant to fund construction of a sister TV station went unreported to the FCC? Source (p. 58)
  • ALT1 Combo hook option with WXTV (Ohio): ... that the sale of WWIZ radio in Lorain, Ohio, undertaken in order to raise capital needed to build WXTV in Youngstown, prompted both stations to lose their licenses? Source (pages 58/60)
  • Reviewed: BBC Radio Theatre
  • Comment: I provided about 25 percent of the article prose, as well as technical and archival assistance, to Nathan; this is his first DYK. Some material was split from WDLW, but there is enough new prose here (around 3200 characters) to qualify as new.

Created by Nathan Obral (talk) and Raymie (talk). Nominated by Raymie (talk) at 08:01, 13 November 2019 (UTC).

  • @Nathan Obral and Raymie: Well, this is a unique situation. I've never reviewed a nomination where there is both an individual and a combo hook, but for the sake of consistency, I will review the other one as well. epicgenius (talk) 21:54, 28 November 2019 (UTC)

WWIZ (Lorain, Ohio)

General: Article is new enough and long enough
Policy: Article is sourced, neutral, and free of copyright problems
Hook: Hook has been verified by provided inline citation
QPQ: Done.

Overall: I prefer the second hook. epicgenius (talk) 21:54, 28 November 2019 (UTC)

WXTV (Ohio): per Template:Did you know nominations/WXTV (Ohio), good to go as well. epicgenius (talk) 21:54, 28 November 2019 (UTC)

  • @Raymie: could you clarify how much text was copied from where to where? You also need to place Template:Copied on both articles. Yoninah (talk) 21:08, 22 December 2019 (UTC)
  • @Yoninah: About 2,579 prose characters were removed from WDLW when the contents were moved into the new WWIZ (Lorain, Ohio) article, though some of the text was rewritten. {{Copied}} has been added to both talk pages. Raymie (tc) 21:17, 22 December 2019 (UTC)
  • @Raymie: well, according to Rule A5 the copied text (not including the references) has to be increased by 5x in the new article. I don't think WWIZ is that long, do you? Yoninah (talk) 21:28, 22 December 2019 (UTC)
  • @Yoninah: Ouch, I didn't realize that. The hook could conceivably be run though for WXTV (Ohio) which should qualify, just with WWIZ unbolded. Pinging Nathan Obral on this one as an FYI. Raymie (tc) 22:14, 22 December 2019 (UTC)
