Wendhausen Windmill[edit]

Wendhausen Windmill
Wendhausen Windmill

Created by Ks03 (talk). Nominated by Mjroots (talk) at 06:48, 13 July 2015 (UTC).

  • Please fix the citation tag.--Nvvchar. 18:34, 13 July 2015 (UTC)
  • The one you added, despite the image that backs the fact up? Mjroots (talk) 18:45, 13 July 2015 (UTC)

I've been made aware off-Wiki that there are other five-sailed windmills standing in Germany, so I've withdrawn the original hook and added an ALT hook. Mjroots (talk) 18:45, 13 July 2015 (UTC)

  • I'd be interested to see the source that states there is more than one operable/functioning five-sailed windmill in Germany. I haven't found one and all sources point to Wendhausen as the only one. There was a five-sailed windmill (fünfflügelige windmuhle) in Flemmingen but is no longer active and needs extreme reconstruction. Also one in Zittau but not longer exists. There is also a replica at the International Windmill and Watermill Museum in nearby Gifhorn. Maybe that's the one you are referring to? Ks03 (talk) 19:52, 13 July 2015 (UTC)
  • @Ks03: - discussion here, but be prepared for the criticism! Mjroots (talk) 20:52, 14 July 2015 (UTC)
  • Mjroots - Wow, didn't expect that. Thanks for sharing tho, good feedback for someone trying to improve wikipedia for the Lehre area. If the guy knows that much, he'd do a benefit to all by actually updating the wiki with the "facts." :) Not sure he answered the concern that the windmill is the only five-sailed windmill still functioning in Germany. Based on the Wendhausen websites and newspapers, it's the only one remaining. He himself said a number were torn down or no longer worked/functioned. :) And yes, he may have valid corrections for other items. Maybe we can suggest that he can help the cause instead of only pointing out the faults! :) Oh, and yes, I'm am an English speaker, and a novice German speaker working to improve. • Adding: The one is correct about converting the water mill to a windmill at the same location. They replaced the watermill, not necessarily at the same location and I should have noted that. I'll correct it in the next day or so.
  • @Mandruss: - another rule changed then. When QPQ was brought in, it was only for self-noms. Mjroots (talk) 06:04, 15 July 2015 (UTC)
Close, no cigar. Pinging Mandarax. ―Mandruss  06:57, 15 July 2015 (UTC)
I don't know why I was pinged. To verify the rule change? Yes, non-self-noms used to be exempt from QPQs, but, as the result of an RfC, the rule was changed about eight months ago. MANdARAX  XAЯAbИAM 08:06, 15 July 2015 (UTC)
  • Mjroots, it's been three weeks since the above posts, and you have not yet provided a QPQ review, though you have been active on Wikipedia in the interim. Please supply one within a week if you wish to continue pursuing this nomination. Many thanks. BlueMoonset (talk) 02:24, 6 August 2015 (UTC)
  • @BlueMoonset: I will do a review by Sunday at the very latest. Thx for your patience. Mjroots (talk) 14:52, 14 August 2015 (UTC)
  • That will be fine; thanks for letting us know. BlueMoonset (talk) 14:54, 14 August 2015 (UTC)
  • QPQ now done. Mjroots (talk) 07:54, 16 August 2015 (UTC)
  • Full review needed now that QPQ has been submitted. BlueMoonset (talk) 16:14, 16 August 2015 (UTC)
  • Seems neutral, its long enough and is well cited to German sources. Hook fact checks out with google translate and I added the dyk citation for the hook. German sources so I'm AGFing the paraphrasing check. Image is fine. Nice article. Thanks. Victuallers (talk) 15:14, 20 August 2015 (UTC)
