William F. Turner[edit]

  • ... that a jury once rushed out of the courtroom of the first Chief Justice of the Arizona Territorial Supreme Court, William F. Turner, to attend to an Indian attack? Source:[1]
    • ALT1:... that William F. Turner, the first Chief Justice of the Arizona Territorial Supreme Court, brought his guns to court after a session was interrupted by an Indian attack? Source: [2]
    • ALT2:... that Arizona Territorial Supreme Court Justice William F. Turner had to rule based on "general principles" since Congress had not funded a law library in the territory for legal research.

5x expanded by MB (talk) and Allen3 (talk). Nominated by MB (talk) at 19:59, 19 June 2019 (UTC).

General: Article is new enough and long enough
Policy: Article is sourced, neutral, and free of copyright problems

Hook eligibility:

  • Cited: Yes
  • Interesting: Unknown
  • Other problems: No - Have to WP:AGF regarding hook ALT2, as it is behind a subscription wall.
QPQ: Done.
Overall: Significant expansion, within the time limit allowed began when RFD (talk · contribs) made this edit on 19 June 2019, and was completed when the same editor made this edit on 20 June. Allen3 (talk · contribs) last edited this article in 2014, which is outside of the eligibility criteria. Otherwise expansion, is clear and valid. Therefore for it to be within the eligibility criteria I am not crediting that editor's work when reviewing this nomination. ECD only found a ~10% rating, so it's good to go on plagiarism. While the article needs some copy editing before it is nominated for GA, the well written criteria is not part of a DYKN, and thus I do not see any hurdles that need to be passed by this article at this time. Of the hooks I prefer the main one. ALT1 is correct, but due to the wording it maybe construed that a Native American attacked the court, not a herd outside of the court as is what is written in the source (page 247). ALT2, is verified to an item which is behind a subscription wall, and thus is valid per WP:AGF but not preferred by this reviewer because of that. RightCowLeftCoast (Moo) 03:09, 28 June 2019 (UTC)
