Wolverhampton East by-election, 1908[edit]
- ... that in a by-election in Britain in 1908, before women were given the vote, a Mrs Lois Dawson was allowed to vote because her name had appeared on the electoral register by accident?

Article is new enough, long enough, adequately sourced, no close paraphrasing seen in online source. The page does have a folksy feel about it; the first paragraph under Description seems like it belongs on Thorne's page, not here. The hook is also a bit wordy; can you give it a little more punch, perhaps incorporating some information from Footnote 1 into the passage in question?
