@Gwillhickers: One issue I have with the hook is that it mentions the holy land, whereas the source and the article state Jerusalem. A quick read of the article suggests the holy land is larger than just Jerusalem so perhaps the hook should be amended to just that. What are your thoughts? Kosack (talk) 19:44, 25 October 2017 (UTC)
- Yes, that crossed my mind also. I used Holy Land as Grant did not simply visit Jerusalem and then depart the greater area, and because Jerusalem is considered the heart of the Holy Land. However, since this may cause issues elsewwhere, I'll change the reference to Jerusalem. Thanks again. -- Gwillhickers (talk) 20:48, 25 October 2017 (UTC)

- I'm adding a public domain image to this nomination per the nominator's request on my talk page. This image appears in the template box at the top of the article. I would also like to suggest tightening the hook, as follows:

- @Yoninah: Original hook is the same basic length as ALT1, but now we have two links run together. If there are no staging/display issues I'd prefer using the actual article name which spells out both the name of the article along with Grant's full name, rather than using "his 1878 world tour". - @Gwillhickers: if you're in Jerusalem, you're in the Holy Land. Also, "Holy Land" sounds archaic. I think there's enough press about Jerusalem to get plenty of hits for the original hook. Yoninah (talk) 21:09, 30 October 2017 (UTC)
- Yes, but Grant's visit was not confined to Jerusalem. Thought mention of Holy Land, which has wide name recognition, would help to spark more interest in the article. Much of history is "archaic". We are not writing for the likes of People magazine here. All argumentative. Nothing to debate over really, esp since I don't have the final say around here.
