WrestleMania XXX

[edit]

Improved to Good Article status by Starship.paint (talk), Antoshi (talk). Nominated by Starship.paint (talk) at 01:29, 15 February 2015 (UTC).

  • I was going to say that the hook at least needs a citation in the supported paragraph, but apparently DYK is more stringent. Per Wikipedia:Did_you_know#DYK_rules: "Each fact in the hook must be supported in the article by at least one inline citation to a reliable source, appearing no later than the end of the sentence(s) offering that fact. Citations at the end of the paragraph are not sufficient."—Bagumba (talk) 21:08, 10 March 2015 (UTC)
  • @Bagumba: - okay, now [58] cites both (Main card, 2nd para) In the first match on the pay-per-view portion of the show, Daniel Bryan faced Triple H; the winner would be inserted in the WWE World Heavyweight Championship main event later that night then also in the paragraph Bryan hit his running knee for the three count and the win and (Main event, last para) garnering the main event victory and the WWE World Heavyweight Championship for Bryan. What do you think? starship.paint ~ ¡Olé! 02:31, 11 March 2015 (UTC)
  • That addresses the sourcing concerns. I casually understand wrestling, but have a question about the use of "main show" in the hook. The article has sections "Main card" and "Main event", both at the same level. Is the main event technically not part of the main card? Card (sports) didn't shed any light, as it doesn't use the term main card. Getting back to the hook, is main show the same as main card, which could relate back to my question of whether main event is part of main card. If show and card are synonymous, is one more commonly used than the other?—Bagumba (talk) 19:10, 14 March 2015 (UTC)
  • 1) Yes, main event is part of the main card. I copied "main card" from WP:MMA like UFC 94
  • 2) I have now changed "main card" in the article to preliminary matches according to WP:PW/SG
  • 3) Actually, the sources don't really say either "main card" or "main show". They just say "the pay-per-view" [1] or "the show" [2] [3].
  • 4) I changed "main show" in the main hook to "pay-per-view", would that be better @Bagumba:? starship.paint ~ ¡Olé! 02:26, 15 March 2015 (UTC)
  • Timely nomination since article became GA. Article is neutral, referenced, and spot checks for paraphrasing were fine. Main hook is supported in article with no issues, and draws interest. QPQ complete.—Bagumba (talk) 08:18, 15 March 2015 (UTC)
