Ye Fei[edit]

Ye Fei in 1955

  • ... that General Ye Fei (pictured), former commander of the Chinese Navy, was born Sixto Mercado Tiongco to a Filipina mother?

  • Thanks for the recommending the date. It didn't occur to me that his birthday is approaching. As for ALT1, it's fine with me except that it seems a little long. Maybe take out the years (except the birth year) from the hook (see ALT2 below)? --Zanhe (talk) 21:53, 29 April 2012 (UTC)
  • ALT2 (A hook for use on MainPage on May 7th this year): ... that Sixto Mercado Tiongco (pictured), born in the Philippines on May 7, 1914, grew up to become Governor of China's Fujian Province, Minister of Transport, and head of the Chinese Navy?
  • Article new, referenced, long enough. alt2 hook is short enough and good enough, referenced and references cover the hook. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 13:24, 5 May 2012 (UTC)
